There are some songs that no matter how many times you listen you cannot make out what the singer has said. I used to think it was because the singer mumbled his/her way through but now I think my mind just wasn’t open to what was being sung.

This mornings car ride to work was the same as yesterday’s except it wasn’t. My heart was now wounded and exposed and unbeknownst to me, my mind was now open and receptive. The music played as I drove the same traffic filled route to the shit hole I call work. Song after song of the same mixed cd, same melodies, same voices and then I heard it.

“I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave me but I know I try.
Are you gonna leave me now.
Can’t you be believing now.”

Holy shit.

Did I just hear that right??

I pressed back on the controls and listened to the song again. I could now decipher what that mumbling man is singing and understood the lyrics fully.
It was like waking up and miraculously understanding a foreign language.

Repeat

I listened over and over to that song, that message and it finally made perfect sense. The melancholic yearning for past days of happiness. The cut that ran deep into his heart.

Nostalgia

Fear

Acceptance of what things have become.

“We lived an adventure
Love in the Summer.
Followed the sun till night
Reminiscing other times of life.”

Who knows what the significance of this is, I sure don’t. I would like to think its a divine force in the cosmos that’s telling me I’m not alone in feeling this way.
Maybe I’m just going crazy.

It’s not like anyone actually cares to read this blog anyway.

As the hubby and I were lying in bed…

Husband: “Babe, I’m dying.”

Wife: “Then I’m going to need some poison. You want me to follow you, right?”

Husband: “Yeah, What about Duke(our cat)? Do you want him to follow too?”

Wife: “Of course, it’s gonna be some heavens gate shit up in here.”
